Why we're asking

Every print we sell began as a plate drawn from life, by someone who sat in front of the plant long enough to get it right. We find those plates in archives, restore them, and put them back on walls.

That work has a limit. The archive is finite, and it stops at the point where botanical illustration stopped being how science recorded the world.

So we would like to commission new work in the same tradition, and to put our range alongside makers whose materials we would be happy to stand behind on our own sustainability page.

  • Artists and illustrators

Botanical work, drawn or painted from life, of a species with a real range and a real story. We produce it as a limited print run, credit you on the plate the way we credit the historic artists, and pay you a share of every sale.

You keep the original and the copyright.

  • Brands and makers

Australian makers whose materials hold up to the same questions we ask of our own. Bundles, joint drops, shared campaigns.

If your sustainability claims are specific and you can substantiate them, we will get along.

  • 01 ยท You pitch

Three to five pieces, the species behind them, and a line on why those species. We read everything.

  • 02 ยท We reply

Within two weeks, either way. A no comes with a reason, because a silent no is worth nothing to you.

  • 03 ยท We produce

We handle print preparation, listing, photography and launch. Made to order on the same stock as the rest of the range.

  • 04 ยท You're paid

A share of every sale, paid monthly, for as long as the piece is listed. We agree the rate in writing before anything goes live.

What we're looking for, and what we're not

Yes: botanical work drawn from observation. Species with a named range. Artists who can tell us where the plant grows and why they chose it. Makers with certifications they can name.

No: generic florals. Work generated rather than drawn. Species we already carry. Anything that needs us to hold stock, because we don't hold any.

We are a small brand and we say no often. It is not a judgement on the work.
